1. Market Transformation and Removal of Barriers for Effective Implementation of State Action Plan for Climate Change, India- GEF - UNDP (2015)
IIEC was engaged by UNDP to prepare a GEF Full Scale Proposal Document for the UNDP-GEF project on Market Transformation and Removal of Barriers for Effective Implementation of the State-Level Climate Change Action Plans for the states of Manipur and Jharkhand. The project objective was to stimulate implementation of climate change mitigation actions stated in the State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCCs). As part of the project IIEC prepared the full-scale proposal document, CEO endorsement document and emissions reduction calculation tool. IIEC worked closely with UNDP and state nodal agencies in Jharkhand and Manipur in drafting these documents. IIEC undertook, extensive primary and secondary research on RE and EE sectors of the two states; conducted two state-level and one national level workshop under the project seeking stakeholder feedback, developed Marginal Abatement Cost Curves (MACC) for selecting mitigation options in the two states, identified and engaged with co-financing institutions at state level for the project, developed detailed project implementation plan for the identified mitigation actions for the states.
2. Design of Detailed Project Reports for States of Manipur and Jharkhand for implementation of RE & EE Pilots, India - UNDP (2015)
UNDP and MOEF&CC was assisting the states of Manipur and Jharkhand in design of four pilot projects to undertake mitigation and adaptation activities in-line with their “State Action Plan on Climate Change”. IIEC was engaged by UNDP for preparation of detailed project proposals for implementation of priority strategies of SAPCCs. IIEC was responsible for identifying key thematic areas for preparation of detailed project proposals covering mitigation and adaptation sectors. It developed two strong proposals one each for mitigation (RE and EE) and adaptation sectors in Jharkhand & Manipur states (overall four proposals) with a view to showcase the actual implementation of SAPCCs. As part of the project IIEC was involved in engaging the state level stakeholders, identification of innovative techniques and practices for mitigation and adaptation activities, conducting feasibility studies and technical assessments for specific pilots, build the capacity of state level Government agencies and the local communities.
